WHAT DOES IT DO?

Assists and supports the president of the Board of Directors and the executive president in the preparation of the agenda, minutes and follow-up of the issues related to the Association’s governance; Supports the participants of the Association’s Committees, especially the coordinators and executive secretary; Acts proactively so that the governance guidelines are known and applied at all levels of the organization; Prepares and follows up on the internal regulations, policies, standards and jurisdictions, controlling and applying the standards; Establishes and manages the activities of external offices, litigation in subjects of interest to the association and/or in processes in which the association acts on behalf of its associates collectively; Attends the Assemblies and assists other statutory bodies in order to observe ABIMED’s bylaws; Supports the association’s Independent Ethics Committee; Provides internal legal support to the administration, through negotiation, monitoring, and assistance in the contractual, administrative, and other areas necessary for the association’s daily operation.

 PROJECTS INVOLVED

  • Compliance Distance Learning Training – Development and follow-up of training for associate employees, aimed at specific knowledge of the association’s Code of Conduct, in order to create a uniform understanding of good commercial practices in the industry.
  • Code of Conduct Update – Review and update of the 6th Edition of the Code of Conduct, seeking to bring the regulations to legislative updates and new forms of business in the industry.
  • Creation and Implantation of a Committee for SMEs – Creation of a Committee with the objective of bringing together themes and presenting action alternatives for the portion of the associates that are classified as Micro, Small and Medium-sized companies.
  • Development of the Startups Admission Analysis Matrix – Establish criteria and evaluation methods that allow the entry, as associates, of Startups from the health technology industry in the association.
  • Creation of a 100% “Legal Design” Code of Conduct – Transform the revised Code of Conduct into a “legal design” type tool, aiming to transform the document into a 100% interactive piece with non-technical language.
  •  ABIMED Campus Project – Provide support for the development of a project to create specialized courses for all topics relevant to the “5 ABIMED Axes”, through agreements/agreements with institutions accredited by the MEC, in order to train employees of associates and non-associates associated.

 COMMITTEES

Legal: Evaluates institutional action strategies that represent the collective interests of the associates in legal matters, in addition to topical discussions on legislation in force or in legislative discussions, which may affect the industry in any way, in order to assess the impacts on the daily lives of the associates . Also acts in the advisory evaluation of possible legal measures that may be adopted by ABIMED. Produces educational and training materials (e.g. primers, manuals, technical papers), which enable training and continuous improvement of the business environment of the associates.

Compliance: It acts in consultation, discussing and recommending governance actions, good practices, always based on the ABIMED Code of Conduct, in addition to discussing topics of good practices aimed at improving the industry’s commercial relations. Produces educational and training materials (e.g. primers, manuals, technical papers), which enable training and continuous improvement of the business environment of the associates.

Fiscal/Tax: Analysis and definition of forwarding of legislative proposals in fiscal and tax issues that may affect, in any way, the sector, in order to assess the impacts on the day to day of the associates, including possible subsidies for legal proceedings. Produces educational and training materials (e.g. primers, manuals, technical papers), which enable training and continuous improvement of the business environment of the associates.
