Attentive to the issues that involve the Tax Reform, ABIMED participated in a seminar in São Paulo, on May 19, represented by its president, Fernando Silveira Filho. The theme of the event that took place at Casa Lide was: “The impacts and challenges of Tax Reform for a new Brazil”, bringing together entrepreneurs and public authorities. There was consensus among the participants on the need for simplification of the collection system, as well as greater transparency.
Federal deputy Aguinaldo Ribeiro (PP-PB) commented on the misinformation still existing about the texts of PECs (Proposed Amendment to the Constitution) 45 and 110, which are in Congress. He is the rapporteur of PEC 45, which foresees the replacement of several federal, state, and municipal taxes with a single value-added tax, known as the Goods and Services Tax (IBS).
It is worth remembering that, together with seven other representative entities of the sector, ABIMED signed in April the Health Productive Sector’s Manifest on Tax Reform, which defends differentiated taxation for the health sector as a priority.
With wide repercussion in the press and digital platforms, the Casa Lide event had an audience reach of approximately 120 thousand users.
