Produced by the Dot Group consultancy, the recently released Intelligent Report on the health sector revealed important data for decision-making, the players participating in this market, and the best strategies for technology use in education in the health sector.

The consultancy compiled expressive data on the segment: there are 301.647 thousand health services in the country (registered with the Ministry of Health); we are among the 10 largest health insurance markets in the world; we are the 6th largest pharmaceutical market on the planet; we represent the 7th largest market for health products and, considering medical, dental, hospital and laboratory products, the health industry in Brazil exports to more than 10 countries, in addition to generating 2.9 million jobs.

The report highlights that much greater knowledge is now available about treatments, medicines, and diagnostics, as well as prevention. Expectations are rising for the quality of products, services and care.

Also according to the study, for health institutions and professionals, this new consumer behavior does not appear as a barrier, but as a challenge. “To keep up with this demanding, qualified and constantly changing market, it is essential that the updating of practices, knowledge, and skills is continuous. In this way, education gains a prominent role. To drive these technical, scientific, and economic developments, the increase and widespread use of new technologies is essential,” emphasizes the Intelligent Report.

The report presents the EdTech (education + technology) tool for companies and institutions seeking more effective education and training models. The analysis also highlights that knowing how to identify the most appropriate technology for each type of business, in support and modernization of processes, cost reduction, and consumer benefit, is fundamental in decision-making.

Another finding of the experts is that the consumer who invests in health care is more informed and demanding. “This behavior is due to the advancement of technology, which allows more access to information and, consequently, more knowledge about treatments, medicines, and diagnoses,” explains the analysis.

In a scenario of work overload, to which health professionals are exposed, education initiatives must contemplate solutions that are flexible and personalized, so that they can update themselves. According to the study, this framework is an excellent opportunity for entrepreneurs in the health sector, especially those who offer methods that can meet the different profiles, needs, and challenges of the ecosystem.
