“People who transform healthcare”. This was the theme of the National Congress of Private Hospitals (Conahp), on October 18th and 19th, in which ABIMED took part. At the opening of the Congress, the Minister of Healthcare, Nísia Trindade, highlighted integrality as a central point for challenges such as technological incorporation, innovation and data integration.
The event was also attended by Eduardo Amaro, president of the Board of Directors of the Associação Nacional de Hospitais Privados (National Association of Private Hospitals); Antônio Britto, executive director of the Association; and Denise Santos, president of the Conahp 2023 Scientific Committee.
Fernando Silveira Filho, executive president of ABIMED, represented the organization on the panel “A atuação das operadoras de planos de saúde e da indústria para a sustentabilidade do setor (The role of healthcare plan operators and the industry for the sustainability of the sector)”. The panelists discussed the sustainability of the sector based on a case presented by Medtronic and the Obesity and Diabetes Center at Hospital Alemão Oswaldo Cruz, the only integrated center in Latin America dedicated to providing care for these comorbidities.
Silveira Filho emphasized that the medical devices industry has fulfilled its role, with a total intersection in prevention, and cited a recent study carried out by the entity in conjunction with LCA Consultores, which showed that for every R$1.00 invested in health technology, there is a positive impact of R$1.56 on the Gross Domestic Product.
