ABIMED is now a member of the Parliamentary Front for the Development of Science, Technology, Innovation, and its Integration with the Labor Market of the Legislative Assembly of the State of São Paulo (Alesp), as a strategic partner in the Health Technologies working group (WG). The invitation was made at a meeting held on March 22nd, which was attended by the Secretary of Science and Technology for Digital Transformation (SETAD) of the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MCTI), Henrique Miguel, to align a partnership for the development of public policies to support municipalities in the state of São Paulo. The organization also contributes technically to the MCTI, being a member of the Brazilian Artificial Intelligence Strategy Committee, as well as taking part in the workshop to review this strategy. Both initiatives are part of the ministry’s structure.

The Parliamentary Front for the Development of Science and Technology was launched on June 1st, 2023, with the aim of building a broad-based action to deepen public policies for the innovation and technology sector in the state, with representatives from the State Legislature, the Executive Power, workers, businesspeople, and educational and research institutions. Its challenges are to improve legislation, promote new laws, define measures for access to technology and innovation, integrate the chain of innovation producers, promote employment and quality of life, and hold new forums.
