ABIMED’s executive president, Fernando Silveira Filho, took part in the event “Conexões: Robôs na Medicina e tecnologia na jornada de cuidados aos pacientes” (Connections: Robots in Medicine and technology in the patient care journey), held by Japan House São Paulo (JHSP) – an initiative that aims to promote the exchange of business and knowledge between the Brazilian and Japanese markets – in the capital of São Paulo.
Fernando explained that the medical equipment and devices industry in Brazil has more than 83,000 products registered with the National Agency of Sanitary Surveillance (Anvisa). However, there are many disparities in the country, which is why ABIMED is working to accelerate and increase the population’s access to advanced technologies.
“This cultural revolution is very important in all fields, at a global level. Our outlook for 2024/2025 is to work more intensively on issues related to public policies and regulation in order to concretely translate the advances in favor of the population’s access to healthcare,” he concluded. The event was also attended by Felipe Kitamura, Dasa’s Director of Innovation, Giovanni Cerri, President of the Innovation Council (InovaHC) of the Hospital das Clínicas of the USP Faculty of Medicine, and Yudai Katami, spokesperson for the company Cyberdine.
