ABIMED is consolidating a new mapping of the business landscape in the health technology sector. This is the ABIMED Thermometer survey, which is carried out periodically. The entity listened to its members through an online questionnaire during the month of July and will soon release the results.

The ABIMED Thermometer aims to identify the economic impacts on the sector in each period. The new study will cover the period from the 1st semester of 2023 and may confirm the perspectives raised in the previous edition.

Released in August last year, the 2022 survey showed an optimistic outlook, with 88% of companies in the medical device sector predicting increased investment in the coming months.   The trend was pointed out even with the scenario of that moment, which already counted with the War in Ukraine, the tense electoral period in Brazil and a standard operation of the IRS, which took more than six months to be suspended and impacted imports. About 46% of the companies surveyed believed in a turnover of more than 10% compared to 2021; 19% bet on growth between 5% and 10% and 23% estimated an increase between 1% and 5%.
